"Whether you're just entering the workforce or have decided on a career change, it’s your time to win in the world of work – and Manpower can help." Manpower's website seems to tell it like it is. After all, it does have a massive worldwide network out covers over 80 countries. For my research, I looked at Madison, WI, Menomonee Falls, WI (the town directly next to mine) and New York City, NY. Based on the sizes of cities alone, I expected that Menomonee Falls would have the least available amount of jobs, followed by Madison and then New York City.  Surprise! I was right.

Menomonee Falls only had one available position, a temporary manufacturing and production job. It says that ideal candidates will be very knowledgeable in the world of manufacturing and will have at least 1 year of experience. So, while it does not seem necessary, experience is helpful. The Madison jobs I found were a loan processor, a liability claims examiner and a customer service representative. Although it was a small sample, it can be seen that Madison positions on Manpower require more prowess in fields of service and interpersonal relations compared to manufacturing. The positions also seemed to value individual work and time management. However, these positions were also temporary but still required years of experience. Just like my prediction, New York City had the most available positions. These positions were incredibly varied, ranging from branch sales manager, to an executive secretary, to general laborers. After reading all of the jobs available for New York, I can determine that jobs with required interpersonal skills needed people with a certain technological skill. Multiple positions, such as a telemarketer/ sales associate, listed basic computer skills and Excell proficiency as needed attributes.

New York City offers a multitude of jobs on Manpower ranging from the highly laborious to sales. To me, these results were not surprising. A large city has the need for a large range of positions with various skills. Overall, however, jobs with needed computer skills seemed to be very personal and service oriented while also being more permanent.
