DoIT make up training session

During the make up DoIT training session I had to watch three different sections to help me familiarize myself with the Ignite presentation. I had to watch sections 2 (working with presentations), 7 (using video, audio, and animations), and 10 (reusing and sharing) of the Powerpoint 2013 presentation. These sections helped me and taught me new things about how to work with presentations and how to reuse and share certain things. Section 2 mainly taught me how to make my own presentation from scratch and where to save it along with controlling the look of my presentation with slide masters and use Backstage view. Backstage is a new concept to me and it is essential because it tells you all things about the current file that open. It tells you the size of the presentation, how many slides, words it has, and how many video clips, and the date it was last modified and created. Slide masters makes your presentation your own and can add cool effects to it.

Section 7 dealt with using video, audio, and animation to add on to your presentation. I learned how to work with video clips, audio files, and how to add a video from either YouTube or you're computer to the presentation. These are all essential tools because they add knowledge and detail to your presentation. And audio files usually keep the audience entertained, involved, and engaged with your presentation.  Also adding slide transitions and animations is an integral part to your presentation. You can have different transitions each slide or the same for every slide depending on what you want. Its a good way to personalize your show.

Section 10 deals with reusing and sharing of your PowerPoint. Saving a custom theme makes the presentation yours and you can keep reusing the same one. Also, packaging the presentation for use on another computer can be very important. Packaging rather than emailing is better because one doesn't have to have PowerPoint already installed when you package it to someone. It sets it up for them and send them a link to view it. Package for CD and name it. Inspecting a presentation for stray comments makes life easier. It checks it for you and looks for things like speaker notes and is especially useful for long presentations. Hope this is informative for everyone!
